Family members "fight" over the $3k GBA contribution. The deceased Nigerian boxer's wife discloses
The widow of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju, Maria Adebusola Olanrewaju, has disclosed that she has not yet received the $3,000 that the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) gave.
My husband's family members are arguing over the $3,000 that the Ghanaian entourage provided. I haven't received the money yet," she said on Sporty FM in Accra.
When the late boxer's remains were brought to his ancestral home in Nigeria by a GBA delegation, the money was donated to the family.
After the boxer's death, Adebusola Olanrewaju, who had previously complained about mistreatment, revealed that her late husband's family is arguing over the money.
I was not permitted to do my rites by my husband's relatives as soon as we received his body. They denied access to me and the kids.
After falling at the Bukom Boxing Arena during a disastrous bout with Ghana's John Mbanugu, the Nigerian boxer died in Ghana.
The Nigerian boxer's death from cardiac arrest was later confirmed by the autopsy report.
